Sharmila, who first went to Cannes in 1962 when Satyajit Ray’s film Devi with her was screened there, is part of the nine-member jury panel at the prestigious international film festival this year. She also went there five years ago when Ray’s Pather Panchali celebrated its 50th year. “But this time it will be different,” Sharmila told BT on Mother’s Day from London, where she is shooting Sangeeta Ghosh’s bilingual film Life Goes On In London with daughter Soha Ali Khan.
“I’ll be busy watching probably three films a day, but that’s a different kind of fun. And there will be thousands of functions to attend.S
