Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet Help Titanic Survivor

When Millvina Dean, the last living survivor of the Titanic disaster, couldn't pay her nursing home bills, some of her closest admirers stepped in to help.

At 2 months old, Dean was the youngest passenger aboard the doomed vessel when it went down on April 14th, 1912. Her father died saving her and her mother's lives, ensuring they would be safely rescued.

Almost 98 years later, Dean has led a long and fruitful life, but recently her troubles seem to have worsened. Three years ago she broke a hip and required full-time care, and since then she's been living in a nursing home in Southampton, England.

To cover the cost of her care, Dean has been forced to sell some of her most cherished memorabilia. Still, this has not been enough.

So when Titanic stars Leonardo DiCaprio, Kate Winslet and director James Cameron heard of Dean's plight, they pooled together $30,000 to bail her out.

The actors hope this money goes a long way to helping her spend her days in peace.
